Damning praise

Peter T writes from New Zealand :

"Came across a delicious example of an academic book review that
combines damning the book with praise of its
translator...

The gem is in the last two sentences:

Self-important, pompous, pretentious, solipsistic, often obscure,
sometimes barely coherent, his book seems to address itself only to
those in the know. The translation by Jane Marie Todd renders all
these faults with exemplary accuracy."
